Old hollow plates

Three hollow plates in half porcelain from the faïencerie des rochers. A half-porcelain is a earthenware that, by its finesse and color, is close to porcelain. Its generally opaque white paste is covered with a transparent lead varnish. It differs from real porcelain which is translucent and common earthenware whose varnish is an enamel made opaque by the addition of tin. It is also called fine earthenware. They are in good condition however they have some small dots at the bottom, small wear at the edge and traces of the pernettes below. Diameter: 23 cm.
