Still Life of Flowers in a Stoneware Jug, Oil on Canvas, 20th Century

An oil on canvas still life of a generous bouquet of daisies and wild flowers in white, cream, red and purple, arranged in a grey stoneware jug with cobalt blue decoration. A few loose flowers lie at the foot of the jug on the table. The flowers are painted with thick, expressive brushstrokes, so the paint stands out in relief on the canvas, while the warm brown background makes the white petals light up. The painting is signed lower left. It is presented in a dark wooden frame with a gold-coloured inner border, which gives it a classic look. A warm and decorative painting from 20th century Belgium, ideal above a sideboard or a fireplace, or in a dining room, living room or hallway. Condition: good, with normal signs of age. The frame shows light wear.
