The 3300 chair, designed by swiss designer bruno rey in 1971, has become an icon of 20th-century industrial design. It was created at a time when the use of lightweight, durable materials such as aluminum was booming, allowing designers to explore new avenues for furniture creation. Drawing on his training at the zurich school of applied arts under willy guhl, bruno rey decided to create a chair without screws or bolts. The 3300 chair, born from this idea, holds a prominent place in design history, embodying the minimalist and functionalist aesthetic of the time. This chair has been reissued by hay in collaboration with dietiker since 2022. It features a one-piece beech veneer structure, which forms both the frame and the backrest. This innovative construction creates a fluid and cohesive silhouette. The seat and front legs are made of solid beech. Plastic glides are attached to the underside of each leg. The manufacturer's label is visible under the seat.
