"The Rooster and the White Clown" by Robert Méredieu. Oil on canvas. Single work 35x27 cm - signed. Framed. Robert Meredieu (1922-2000) School of Fine Arts in Marseille, Clermont-Ferrand then Paris. School of Applied Arts, and also of Crafts. Academy of the Grande Chaumière. Workshops of Marcel Roche (1890-1959), Jean Bonnier (1882-1966), André Lhote (1885-1962) and Marcel Gromaire (1892-1971). He participated, with success, in numerous salons and exhibitions: Paris, province, but also abroad: Germany, Italy, Sweden, Spain - winning numerous medals in the most important competitions and artistic events. The state and the city of Paris bought about ten paintings from him, but he refused to be an official painter, and his independence of mind led him on his solitary path. He was a member of many salons and artistic advisor to several of them.
