6x 'Windsor' dining chairs by Jørgen Anker Heegaard, Fritz Hansen, 1940

Set of 6 'Windsor' dining chairs by Jørgen Anker Heegaard, designed in 1940. My favourite early Fritz Hansen dining chair gives a elegant and unique take on the spindle back English Windsor chair. The four feet are organically shaped and have no inner supports giving them a very light base. No unneeded design features, only the essentials needed to create a design classic. The chairs are made in beech and have a black painted finish showing it's age in places with a charming worn patina. Wear consistent with age and use. Structurally in good vintage condition with very firm joints and backs. The black paint has a nice worn patina in places from use throughout the decades. Chairs are showing signs of different layers of paint in it's history. Seat height is 46cm.
