AJ Royal pendant lamp by Arne Jacobsen

The AJ Royal pendant light was designed in 1957 by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Louis Poulsen. Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen around 1957 for the SAS airline. He not only designed the hotel, but also the interior of the hotel, such as the famous Egg and Swan chairs, and therefore also this Royale AJ lamp. The lampshade is lacquered brown and rings, for a characteristic Danish look. The lighting consists of 4 ceramic sockets and gives a beautiful downward light, but also a more subtle light through the rings. The lamp is in very good condition, note a scratch on the inside of the lampshade but almost invisible in situ (see photos). Diameter 50 cm and height 22.5 cm. The cable can be replaced very easily for a longer length or with a textile cable (free on request)
