Unique and exceptional piece. This table comes straight from the east of France; it was a special order made to measure for the Villeroy and Boch workshops in Moselle in the 1960s. This work table was notably used to manufacture tiles. It thus combines industrial heritage, radical design, and while hunting for it, I immediately envisioned it. It was then restored into a very large coffee table. Its structure, made of rosewood veneer with cubic volumes, has been reinterpreted in a "Mondrian" spirit, using high-end glass to highlight its lines and create integrated storage spaces (one of which closes and the other does not). Its restoration was designed to preserve its soul: the veneer intentionally retains its signs of use and period patina, witnesses to its history as a work table. See photos. A sculptural and functional work, ready to become the centrepiece of a unique interior.
