Blown glass salad bowl

The salad bowl is in perfect condition, no accidents, no cracks or chips. It is made of blown glass from biot. This piece was mouth-blown using an artisanal technique and as a result, it is irregular. The bubbled glass captures the light beautifully and has a soft and delicate texture. The bubbled glass from biot has existed since 1956, when éloi monod adopted the technique called "malfin", which consists of transforming a defect into a quality: intentionally trapped, the bubble becomes an aesthetic asset. The glassmakers from biot then succeed in sublimating the bubbled glass: by controlling the bubble, and trapping it between two layers of glass, with a smooth feel. Between tradition and creation, each glassware from biot is unique, because it is mouth-blown by master glassmakers. Depending on the season, the products come in all colors: golden yellow, sand pink, lime, amethyst, persian blue, etc. So many pastel and sparkling colors at the same time. Here, a very pretty delicate blue. The salad bowl is heavy and very stable on its base. The bottom measures approximately 9.5 cm in diameter. Very pretty piece of french artisanal manufacture from the south of france, from the 80s.
