Safari Chair KK47000 Kaare Klint for Rud. Rasmussen, Denmark, 1960

The famous Safari chair, model KK47000, was designed by Kaare Klint in 1933 and is considered one of the great classics of Danish design of the 20th century. This example was produced by Rud. Rasmussen in the 1960s. The design is inspired by military campaign furniture and is characterised by a simple detachable construction combining solid wood, canvas, and leather straps. The slightly inclined seat and the flexibility of the canvas provide remarkable comfort while maintaining a light and architectural silhouette. The chair shows a beautiful patina consistent with its age, highlighting the natural materials and the character of the piece. An iconic classic of Scandinavian modernism. Seat height 30cm.
