Sun mirror, wooden witch's eye

Superb vintage witch mirror, also known as banker's mirror or sun mirror. The gilded wooden frame (or gold leaf) has stems forming the rays of the solar star. Accompanied by a convex mirror or witch's eye, so named because the masters of yesteryear attributed magical powers to make their servants believe that they were being watched during their absence!
