Maison Lecan presents this pair of bar stools with a brutalist spirit, a French work from the 1950s. These pieces belong to post-war popular art: rural workshops in the Massif Central were then producing sturdy furniture intended for mountain bars and chalet interiors, in a pronounced vernacular style. The seat is carved from a thick block of solid wood, with marked grain and a lively edge. It rests on four legs made from stripped branches, preserved in their natural shape and assembled with through tenons. There is a peripheral stretcher at footrest height. Consistent patina from use, with drying cracks on the surface, waxed finish. Seat height 79 cm. Sold as a pair. Reference LDP: 20260508-001. Dimensions: H79 × W30 × D30 cm (per stool) Materials: Solid wood (chestnut), branches.
