Sodium citrate is the sodium salt of citric acid (e330). The latter is a natural acid present in most fruits. It is an emulsifier, a stabilizer but also an acidity regulator commonly used in refreshing non-alcoholic drinks such as sodas. Large 19th century pot / bottle / medicine bottle in blown glass, thick, blue, closed with a lid in painted sheet metal in "marbled faux-wood" color. Paris porcelain label (with fine gold edging) glued to gum arabic with “citrate of soda” inscription, neck diameter 4 cm, base diameter 8.5 cm, height 19.5 cm. The pontil mark and the presence of bubbles attest to its age. In its own juice, in perfect condition.
