Superb ceramic jug vase, designed by the illustrious German designer Heinz Siery for the Scheurich Keramik factory during the 1960s/1970s. This iconic piece of Mid-Century design from West Germany is a beautiful example of post-war modernism. The form 423, created by Siery, is distinguished by its generous bulbous lines and perfectly proportioned side handle. The work on the glazes is overseen by the famous chief decorator Oswald Kleudgen. The original base features a perfectly clear relief marking, confirming the origin of the manufacture. A major piece of ceramic art, highly decorative and sought after.
