A set of eight iconic Model 3107 “Butterfly” dining chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen and produced by Fritz Hansen in Denmark in 1967. Formed from molded plywood, the chairs feature the characteristic one-piece seat and backrest finished in black and supported by slender four-legged chromed steel bases. The curved shell gives the chairs their distinctive and instantly recognizable silhouette. The flexible molded construction provides comfortable seating while keeping the design visually light. Their compact proportions and stackable construction make the chairs practical around a dining or conference table. The organic shell, minimal use of materials and slender steel base are characteristic of Jacobsen’s approach, combining functional construction with a clear and refined expression. All eight chairs retain their original Fritz Hansen markings underneath the seats, dated 1967 and accompanied by Danish Furniture Control labels.
