This rare paper bin from the 1960s was designed by Einar Barnes for Norwegian PS Heggen. A design where craftsmanship, material feel, and organic lines come together naturally. The waste bin is entirely made of teak and constructed from curved plywood, enclosed between two solid conically shaped slats. The warm teak tone and fine veneer give the object a calm, natural appearance. At the top of both slats, there is an oval cutout that subtly serves as a handle. This detail enhances the sculptural character of the design. The curved side panels are elegantly thin yet surprisingly strong. The shape is soft and flowing, almost like a wooden leaf unfolding. Although originally designed as a paper bin, this object easily lends itself to broader use. In an interior with a love for Scandinavian design, it could also serve purely as a form study or collectible. We have carefully cleaned the paper bin and nourished the wood, bringing the warm grain and deep color back to life. The whole piece is in beautiful vintage condition and is ready for immediate use. With purchase, you will receive a care instruction with matching furniture oil to keep the furniture in top condition.
