Rare beauty! Large and remarkable octagonal dish in english faience of minton stamped m-co between 1841 and 1873. So this dish is at least 150 years old, and so much freshness! The delicate shape despite the size 39cm X 32cm, the dense material with ivory background, shiny and heavy, contrasting with the light and delicious décor of english garden - grasses and hawthorns barely colored like a watercolor. A victorian-era dish, whose décor called belgravia in a period ribbon marks the cultural affiliation of minton - and this dish - to this fantastic upscale london district known for its splendid townhouses built under the reign of the queen victoria. The loop is closed! Frequent traces of earthenware on very old pieces like this, and a short hair not crossing on the reverse. Brilliant faience with no trace of use.
