Melitta Coffee Service – Renaissance Vintage

Discover this iconic Melitta service from the 1970s, a unique design piece that has undergone a true transformation. This service is no longer just vintage tableware; it is a work of art that celebrates the history and resilience of the object. Authentic vintage piece enhanced by traditional artisanal work carried out in my workshop. The Art of Kintsugi: Unlike modern imitations, each piece of this service has been restored using the ancestral Japanese method: • Natural Urushi Lacquer: The cracks have been treated with pure plant lacquer for authenticity. • Ki Roiro Finish: The repair lines feature a deep, glossy black (Ki Roiro), creating an elegant dialogue with the matte black and glazed ochre of the original service. • Ki Urushi Protection: A final layer of transparent lacquer (Ki Urushi) has been applied to seal the work and ensure the durability of the restoration. Composition and Condition: The service is complete and includes 9 restored pieces: 1 coffee pot, 1 sugar bowl, 1 milk jug, as well as 4 cups and their saucers. Each scar is unique and an integral part of the piece's design. • Usage Tips: Hand washing is essential. Do not microwave. The packaging will be exceptionally careful (double cardboard).
