A ceramic vase by Fratelli Fanciullacci, Tuscany, dating from the 1950s. The surface is decorated in sgraffito with stylized flowers and acanthus leaves on a jade green ground, finished in mottled shades of grey and white. The design draws on the Renaissance decorative tradition long associated with Tuscan ceramics, reinterpreted through the heavier forms and textured glazes of the post-war period. The granular surface and deeply incised decoration give the piece a strong visual presence. Founded in Montelupo Fiorentino, Tuscany, Fratelli Fanciullacci became one of the region's most distinctive ceramic producers during the post-war period. Their work is particularly recognized for its use of sgraffito decoration, reinterpreting traditional Italian motifs through a mid-century lens. Signed to the underside. Dimensions.
