Stunning “Kilimanjaro” table lamp designed by Sergio Asti (1926–2021), created around 1970 for the Dutch manufacturer RAAK Amsterdam. Made of blown opaline glass, it is distinguished by its sculptural conical shape and subtle interplay of transparency, typical of Italian modernist design. This minimalist creation, both architectural and poetic, diffuses a soft, enveloping light, ideal for creating a warm atmosphere in a contemporary or vintage interior. Dimensions: Height 23 cm, Diameter 28 cm. Material: White opaline glass. Manufacturer: RAAK Amsterdam. Designer: Sergio Asti. Circa: 1970. Very good overall condition! A few minor imperfections are present (small chips inside and a micro-crack near the cord), without affecting the exterior aesthetics. An iconic piece of 1970s Italian design, the “Kilimanjaro” lamp perfectly illustrates the functional elegance characteristic of Sergio Asti, a style closely associated with the Milanese school and poetic rationalism. It pairs beautifully with creations by Gino Sarfatti, Vico Magistretti, Angelo Mangiarotti, and Ettore Sottsass, as well as with the clean lines of lighting fixtures by RAAK, Arteluce, and Artemide. Its timeless design evokes the perfect balance between art, geometry, and light—a true luminous sculpture to collect.
