Mermaid lamp, called mermaid, by the famous and influential Irish designer and architect Eileen Gray in the 1930s/40s for the jumo lamp publisher. With white acrylic glass diffuser and switch at the base. This iconic desk lamp with a circular lampshade in metal, aluminum, brass and a celluloid acrylic diffuser, is decorated with a cartridge depicting a mermaid playing the lyre. Eileen Gray was an active member of the Union of Modern Artists in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s.
