American Lane step end table from Altavista, USA, with two staggered tops, spindle gallery and tapered legs. Step end table produced by Lane, a company founded in Altavista, Virginia, and one of the key names in American modern furniture. The lower top extends into a gallery of turned spindles, supported by shaped uprights, carrying the upper tier. Tapered legs and curved joints offer an American reading of Scandinavian modernism, widely influential in the United States in the 1950s-60s. Good condition. It may show signs of age and use. Please pay close attention to the photographs. AG238.
