Workshop stool in old solid wood

The stool is in very good condition, it is stable and strong, the assemblies are robust and do not move. It is quite heavy, of old manufacture, made of solid wood. The top is made of three thick boards, simply assembled edge to edge, nailed to the feet. The wood having played with time, the boards are now poorly joined, and there is a small space of a few millimeters between each of them. The middle board is pierced with an oval hole, which acts as a handle, which is typical of this type of old workshop stool. It could thus be easily moved as needed. The feet are of square section, 4 cm side, and are very slightly flared. They are linked in the lower part by reinforcement bars. The stool was probably painted in the 60s, but it dates from the first half of the twentieth century. The painting is very patinated by use, which gives it a crazy charm. When the stool was painted, it had already served a lot, and showed traces of use, slight accidents, and hollow marks, which were covered by the paint. The stool has been entirely passed to the antique dealer's ancaustic and for maintenance it will be enough to rub it from time to time with a soft cloth. Beautiful proportions very generous. The seat height corresponds to the standard seat height of a kitchen chair, so it can serve as an booster seat. Authentic and simple, it has the touching aura of antique craft furniture.
