Post-impressionist and materialist painting - signed autumn landscape - oil on cardboard circa 1900

I am offering this oil on very thick cardboard in perfect condition representing an autumn landscape of a canal lined with poplars. This pictorial representation around 1900 would be located in the northern or western half of France, and would perhaps represent the Scarpe canal near Arras or that between Brest and Nantes. The interest of this work with its thousand autumnal colors lies in a large horizontal perspective of the canal leading to a vertical sunrise in the distance. This flared sunrise is made with a progression of yellow colors, then pink and finally with different blues. We see superb reflections in the water, very faithful to the surrounding nature. The pictorial material is very thick which gives relief and the impression of a living work outdoors. Frame dimensions: 45.5 x 38 cm. Dimensions of the work: 41 X 33 cm.
