Beautiful antique wardrobe in the style of Henri II, dating from the late 19th century / early 20th century, typical of French bourgeois furniture with neo-Renaissance inspiration. This piece is distinguished by its elegant proportions, richly carved arched pediment, fluted columns, and full-height mirror doors, characteristic elements of wardrobes from this period. The woodwork is particularly refined, with visible chevron veneer on the sides, adding true sophistication and a beautiful display of the wood grain. The whole is both decorative and functional, with a strong presence that makes it a central piece in a bedroom, dressing room, or character home. Materials & construction: Solid wood and veneer. Decorative carvings (pediment, central cartouche). Full-height mirror doors. Interior with shelves and drawer. Original finish, authentic old patina. Period & style: Period: late 19th century / early 20th century. Style: Henri II / neo-Renaissance. Origin: France. Condition: Wardrobe in good general condition for its age. Structure sound, stable, without heavy restoration. Presence of signs of time and use, consistent with an antique piece (patina, slight marks), which contribute to its authenticity. Mirrors are intact and functional. Clean interior that has been lined, sold as is, to be restored. The base of the furniture has sagged in the centre, making it difficult to open the bottom drawer; this also needs restoration, sold as is. Possible uses: Bedroom wardrobe. Character dressing room. Possible repurposing as a display cabinet or decorative storage unit. Potential to be used as a hidden passage like in Narnia, for example.
