Louis XVI style notary's office

Large antique Louis XVI notary desk in dark stained solid wood. This professional piece, both elegant and functional, features 5 front drawers (four side drawers and one large compartmentalised central drawer) equipped with their shell handles. The top is covered with a red desk mat (which can be easily replaced if needed). The legs are tapered and turned, typical of the style. The back (the rear of the desk) is as well-finished and attractive as the main front. It showcases metal ornaments in a bronze or patinated brass style, including a large central floral motif. Designed to be "all sides", this executive desk can easily be placed in the centre of a room. It is in generally good condition with a lovely patina from time. Please note some signs of use on the wood and small stains and holes on the desk mat (see zoomed photos). Very robust and stable structure. Height under the frieze (leg space): 58.5 cm.
