This listing features a rare and highly sculptural Bauhaus desk lamp from the 1930s, likely of German origin. The design embodies the fundamental principles of Bauhaus with its functionality and refined industrial aesthetics, combining clear geometry with elegant movement. The lamp has a gracefully curved chrome steel arm, stemming from a weighted circular base, paired with a wide, shallow black metal shade. The dynamic arc of the stem gives the piece a distinctive, almost kinetic presence while maintaining a strict visual balance between form and function — hallmarks of early modernist design. The adjustable shade allows for directional lighting, making the lamp both practical and visually striking. The base retains its original push-button switch, a typical detail of early interwar electrical design. The interior of the shade shows natural oxidation and patina, enhancing the authenticity and age of the piece. Although the designer has not been definitively identified, the lamp strongly reflects the design language of manufacturers influenced by Bauhaus, such as Kandem (Körting & Mathiesen), as well as early production associated with figures like Marianne Brandt or Christian Dell. An exceptional example of early 20th-century modernist lighting — also suitable for Bauhaus design collectors or as a statement piece in a refined interior. Upon purchase, the lamp will be carefully packaged to prevent any damage during transport. A tracking number will be provided upon shipping. For any further questions, please contact the seller. Happy shopping!.
