retro desk (industrial/school style from the 60s-70s)

Vintage desk from the 60s-70s – a lovely piece of our history! It's the kind of furniture I easily get attached to… A desk that has lived, that has probably seen many files, letters, and workdays before it came into my hands. It likely dates from the 60s-70s, with its light grey/white top, made of compressed wood, and its lovely metal structure. It features a sliding pull-out, that little retractable shelf found on old professional desks, particularly for placing a typewriter or simply to gain a bit of space to work. I also really like its metal footrest at the bottom of the desk, a small detail typical of these old work furniture pieces that adds even more of that retro and industrial charm. It's a really sturdy and quite heavy desk. It has been through several moves and inevitably bears some marks of this eventful life. It shows signs of wear and tear related to its age, and one of the corners is slightly damaged (see photos). But that's exactly what I love about this kind of furniture: It's not a perfect piece, it's a piece that has a story, a real presence, and that little something that new furniture lacks. I part with it with a slight pang in my heart, hoping it will find someone who, like me, will appreciate its retro, robust, simple, and charming side.
