Pair of Italian Lounge Chairs attrib. to Gio Ponti for ISA Bergamo 1950s

This elegant pair of lounge chairs is attributed to the Italian designer Gio Ponti and was produced by ISA Bergamo in Italy during the 1950s. Several of Ponti’s designs had been manufactured by the ISA company in the late 1940s and ‘50s. The chairs are recently reupholstered in a light grey velvet fabric. Also the interior has been renewed. The upholstery features stylish button tufting on the backrests. The chairs are resting on tapered legs in beech wood. The strong lines and the good proportions of the chairs make them classic and modern at the same time. Great chairs and very comfortable seating. The chairs are in very good condition. Only little traces of use, mainly on the wooden legs.
