Taxidermy. Golden pheasant or chrysolophus pictus naturalized on wooden base from the beginning of the 20th century. Create your curiosity cabinet... Curiosity cabinets were rooms, or sometimes furniture, where "rare, new, singular things" were stored and exhibited, to use the definition of the littré: there was a motley mix. The cabinets of curiosities marked a step towards a more scientific apprehension of the world. Appearing in the renaissance in europe (studiolo in italian, wunderkammer in german), their collections, often open to visitors, later formed the nucleus of museums, museums and botanical gardens that gradually replaced them. Good condition and extremely decorative.
