Pair of vintage 1950s Lita Zodiac spotlights by Jacques Biny, black and gold - 16 x 13

Pair of vintage wall sconces produced by Lita Design by Jacques Biny, in black lacquered and gold-tone metal, circa 1950, in good condition. These spotlights were designed for museums, providing a beam of light to illuminate artworks. They show signs of age. Both are functional and retain their original glass lenses. The paintwork is clean; one is like new, the other has a patina. Bulbs are not included. It would be advisable to integrate them with a wall switch. While the pull-cord switches work, one is temperamental: it switches off suddenly but requires three presses to turn back on. They are 13cm long, 6cm wide, and 16cm deep. The base diameter is 8cm.
