Unique piece made by the German artist Gerhard Liebenthron around 1970. Ceramic pitcher vase in brown ocher tones with abstract decoration on it. West Germany vintage studio pottery. Signed at the bottom. Width: 15 cm / 5.9 inch. Depth: 15 cm / 5.9 inch. Height: 26.5 cm / 10.43 inch. Weight: 1584 gram / 55.87 ounce. NOTE: the handle has 3 little cracks on it that have been mended very well (see last two photos) Creator: Gerhard Liebenthron (1925-2005) was a West German pottery artist. After studying visual communication at Ulm's College of Art and Design, he worked as an industrial designer for various companies before founding his own design agency, Liebschaften, in 1980. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with many major international brands, including Vitra, Boffi, Zanotta, Rosenthal, ClassiCon and many others. His designs include furniture, lighting, kitchenware and other domestic products, as well as architectural projects. He has won many prestigious awards for his work, including the Design Plus Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award. Today, Liebenthron is considered one of Germany's most influential and respected industrial designers, and his work continues to inspire designers and creators around the world.
