In 1913, he founded the furniture manufacturer Karl Sørlie & Sønner in Sarpsborg. The company gained international recognition for its high-quality furniture, typical of mid-20th century modern Scandinavian style. The modular system "Saga, " characterised by its interchangeable elements, is among his most famous creations. The coffee table presented here, from this series, features a removable top, allowing it to also serve as a serving tray.
