These two plates were produced at the Sarreguemines manufactory in France between 1860 and 1919, when Paul Utzschneider was in charge of production. In the 19th century, following the great craze for English earthenware, many manufacturers around the world began to copy the style of the Minton manufactory. That is why we find examples reproduced identically to those of English origin (except, however, for some details, in order to avoid accusations of plagiarism), but made in French or other workshops. On the visible side of the plates in the Chinoiserie style, there is a profusion of flowers - peonies, old roses, cherry blossoms and a bird trying to catch a small butterfly. A light frieze completes the composition and it reminds us so much of Minton. On the back of the plate there is a green Sarreeguemines marking and on one of the plates the number 252 is written in red. They are perfect for a romantic, chic holiday table or simply as part of your interior decor. The plates are in excellent vintage condition, without chips or cracks, without loss of paint. Therefore, please examine the items carefully through zoom before making a purchase. Dimensions approx. Diameter 20.5 cm`s 7.87 inch. High 2 cm`s 0.78 inch. Set weight before packaging 570 gr.
