Beautiful pair of French bronze wall sconces in Louis XVI / Neoclassical style. These elegant wall sconces feature a beautifully detailed fluted central backplate, graceful curved arms and finely decorated candle cups, with delicate classical ornamentation throughout. Their restrained neoclassical design and warm aged bronze patina give them a timeless French character. The sconces have been left in their original aged bronze finish and have not been polished, allowing the natural patina and signs of age to remain visible. I personally find this finish particularly attractive, but they could be polished by their new owner if a brighter appearance is preferred. Each sconce has two curved arms and is currently not electrified. They have openings/passages designed to allow electrical wires to be installed, should the new owner wish to convert them for use as electric wall lights. Any electrical conversion should be carried out by a qualified professional. The sconces are sold as decorative candle sconces and are not currently wired. They are in good vintage/antique condition, with the expected minor signs of age and use that contribute to their character.
