White wooden library staircase, composed of 4 steps and a handrail on the left. Very graphic, it has been completely cleaned, and left unfinished to give full freedom to the future buyer, possibility of oiling it, waxing it, painting it... Or leaving it unfinished for its natural and authentic side. Assembled with mortise tenons, doweled and nailed, it is solid and stable. An old repair with reinforcement is visible on the rear upright of the ramp, and a rear leg has been reamed. Atypical in its great width, it will be perfect for diverting it from its initial function and accommodating personal decoration: books, decorative objects, plants... We can find this model of stepladder in numerous paintings from artists' studios, as illustrated in the last photo: "a restoration" by edouard dantan, from 1891, where there is a balustraded staircase which allowed the sculptor to have his model at the desired height. This could also provide access to a platform. It measures 65cm at the widest, 146cm high in total, the highest step is 71cm from the ground, in depth it is 83.5cm. Weight: 11kg.
