Japanese vase, green ceramic with bamboo lacing, Awaji Yaki, antique 1900-1930.

Beautiful and rare Japanese collectible vase made of green Awaji-yaki artisanal ceramic with bamboo lacing, dating from the early 20th century around 1900-1930. It has an elongated shape that flares out at the top, elegant and typical of Awaji productions intended for decoration or ikebana. The clay is quite fine, with a deep green glossy glaze that shows a slight network of natural crazing. The signature under the base is to be identified, with the inscription/kanji being somewhat illegible. This vase is quite rare, authentic, and representative of the workshops on Awaji Island at the beginning of the Shōwa era. 19 cm in height, 11 cm in maximum diameter. Very good overall condition for its age, somewhat in its original state, the glaze is intact and shiny but shows a slight patina of dust despite careful cleaning. The original weaving is complete with a discreet broken strand at the top that does not affect its appearance, some wear on the rest of the weaving, and a discreet detached strand at the bottom that also does not affect it. No cracks or chips. A lovely object that will delight fans of Japanese ceramics.
