Art Deco caddy made from solid crystal by Moser in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s, showcasing the craftsmanship of interwar glassmaking. The octagonal shape features distinctly faceted, polished sides in a cool, olivine shade. The proportions are harmonious—with a wide, stable base and vertical, smooth walls emphasizing the solidity of the form and precision of execution. The glass surface is transparent and shiny, with sharp edges dramatically refracting light, giving the whole a monumental character. Inside, fine air bubbles and natural inclusions are visible at the bottom, typical of hand-blown crystal from this period, confirming the authenticity of the piece. The caddy is free from chips or cracks and is in very good condition—showing no signs of use. The form evokes the voice of the 1930s when Art Deco combined functionality with sophisticated geometry. The cool olivine green and faceted sides reference modernist cabinets and luxurious lounges, where glass was a symbol of modernity and progress. Each edge reflects light like a fragment of a crystal chandelier in a Viennese café, creating a bright rhythm that speaks to the era’s love for harmony, clarity, and the nobility of material. The caddy could serve as an elegant accent on a desk in an office or stand out on a console in the living room. It is worth pairing it with geometric Art Deco items—decanters, candleholders or chrome accessories—or using it as a singular counterpoint in modern or eclectic arrangements, where olivine crystal will highlight the richness of dark wood, minimalist ceramics, or metal. It also works well as a container for pens or small items, introducing a subtle touch of interwar modernism.
