Ateno was imagined as a micro architecture with multiple uses. The sculpture, surmounted by a cup, is an invitation to appropriate the object in your own way. It can be used to lay jewelry, serve as a candle holder or any other feature guided by your imagination. Inspired by the vocabulary of ancient architecture, ateno is a reinterpretation of the Ionic column. The rough worked white sandstone is contrasted with the colored enamel of the cup and an enamelled face adorned with black stripes. Materials: chamotted white sandstone, raw, transparent enamel and color enamel. LA MANO STUDIO: Of Franco-Spanish origin, Manon Oller was born in 1993 in Strasbourg. Today she lives and works in Lyon and develops a creation guided by the playful principle of the association – association of shapes, colors, of textures — in a way that maliciously questions the object and its function. After studying Art History at the University Manon Oller discovered ceramic art. Through this material she wishes to find formal answers to the theoretical problems she encounters at the University. She then joined the European Institute of Ceramic Arts in Guebwiller from which she graduated in 2019. Inspired by the Mediterranean, the ancient architecture or the utopian architecture of the Age of Enlightenment, by the modular and liberated design of the Memphis group, Manon Oller, favors in her studio only one method: that of play and experimentation. The same shape alternately excavated, cut and then assembled, nested or closed, can give rise to a multitude of objects.
