Very large glazed terracotta lebrillo, late 19th - early 20th century, in its original patina. A multipurpose container traditionally used in the south and southwest of france as well as in spain, it was used in particular for food preparation (jams, preserves, etc.). This antique pottery, from a menorcan finca in the balearic islands, is a remarkable work of folk art. An old repair made with staples tells the story of this piece and adds to its unique charm. Entirely handcrafted, this lebrillo, marked by the passage of time, shows subtle traces of use that underline its authenticity. The finca's mark is delicately painted on the bottom, a further sign of its origin. Particularly decorative, it seduces with its warm colors, its period patina and the harmonious simplicity of its forms.
