He perfected his skills at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Mons with Alfred Duriau and Émile Motte (1920-1922) as well as at the Academy of Brussels with Constant Montald, Jean Delville and Émile Fabry (1922-1926). He settled in Schaerbeek in 1923. The Godecharle Prize (1928) allowed him to visit France and Italy in 1930. He mainly created clear and robust landscapes, beach views, seascapes, still lifes. He has an eye for color, and his use of it exudes a great deal of emotion. He prefers to use certain shades of color, such as blues, yellows, greens, and reds.
