Satsuma ceramic lamp, 19th century

Very beautiful Satsuma ceramic lamp (Japan), late 19th century to early 20th century. Great finesse in the painting of court scenes, peonies, and cranes. A superb combination of colours and gold that evokes Klimt. This lamp was originally an oil lamp, and it has a base of bronze and brass. Overall good condition, no cracks or chips, some marks on a fine part of the lampshade (see photos). A true favourite.
