Vintage Murano Glass and Brass Leaf Sconces Wall Lamps, 2 Pairs Available

Pair of vintage Murano glass and polished brass wall lamps in the shape of leaves, from the mid-century Hollywood Regency era, approximately dating from the 1960s-1970s. Recently re-wired with new brass backplates. E14 sockets. Two pairs available, so four sconces in total. The listed price corresponds to a pair of two individual sconces. These beautiful handmade glass leaves are created using the "graniglia" technique—an Italian term meaning "small grains" or "gravel"—a typical Murano glass technique. Small fragments of glass are applied to the surface of the hot glass and fused as the piece is worked, giving it a granular, frosted texture. Each grain captures and diffuses light, contributing to the crystalline glow of the glass when lit. The grains are found inside the glass, making the outer surface perfectly smooth.
