Antoine Montagnon in Nevers: footed bowl in porcelain with blue decoration.

Superb footed bowl in glazed earthenware with a blue floral decoration on a white background, produced in Nevers. This large circular bowl features a rich hand-painted vegetal decoration in shades of blue (stylised flowers, scrolls, and foliage), a thick border highlighted with a dark blue line, two side handles in the form of stylised masks, and a flared foot decorated with matching friezes and scrolls. The whole piece offers a very beautiful decorative presence, ideal as a centrepiece, fruit bowl, or ornamental element on a sideboard or console. Generally in good condition, with an old crack visible inside the basin (see photos), some signs of use and slight marks of time, glaze slightly marked in places, no visible restoration. Material: glazed earthenware, hand-painted decoration, handwritten mark under the glaze visible inside. Period: late 19th century. Style: Nevers. A very beautiful large decorative piece, with classic and timeless charm.
