It is a ceramic piece from Vallauris. There is a signature on the underside but it is difficult to identify (the name of the ceramicist as Vallauris is clearly visible - see photo). It is an oyster-shaped object that is very elegant and can be used as a catchall or simply as a decorative item. It is both vintage and very modern.
