Stoneware vase from a French workshop, made around 1940–1950. Hand-turned, it features an elegant silhouette composed of a globular body and a long cylindrical neck. Its warm brown glaze, finely speckled and enriched by the natural effects of firing, is highlighted by a large black circular decoration applied by hand on one side. Its sober and organic aesthetic is in line with the tradition of French workshop ceramics from the mid-20th century. Probably made in France around the mid-20th century. No signature or manufacturer's mark is visible in the photographs. Condition. Very good condition with slight wear consistent with its age. A fine superficial line, likely related to the firing or corresponding to a slight stable hairline, is visible on one side of the body (see photographs). There are also some light signs of use as well as the natural irregularities typical of artisanal stoneware production. The photographs are an integral part of the description and reflect the exact condition of the item. Dating. Circa 1940–1950. Dimensions. Height: 30 cm (11.8 in) Diameter: 17.2 cm (6.8 in).
