Salt shaker salt pepper shaker fish slip Verceram

Pretty and fun salt dish which allowed you to present salt and pepper on a table but which today could also find other uses: tip cup in a restaurant, receptacle for placing rings in the bedroom or bathroom... It is made of ceramic enamelled in a pretty emerald green color enhanced with a gold thread in places. The color rendering in the photos does not exactly reflect reality, it appears relatively blue while it is really emerald green. It is not stamped. This was often the case on small parts that were part of a larger service. It could be a production of saint clément, but I lean more towards verceram from between 1930 and 1940 because the green color is strictly identical to a fruit bowl that I own and which is stamped verceram and includes the same golden border. And another clue, for verceram the sea has always been one of the subjects of inspiration for the creation of ceramic shapes. It is in good condition, no cracks or chips, but does not hide some slight signs of its age: the gold edging is faded in places and on the edge where this edging is faded, we find two microscopic chips. This salt cellar measures 13.5 cm in length, 6.5 cm in width, 3.5 cm in thickness.
