Colorful Louis XIV Style Bench with Sheep Bone Base

Period: ca. 20th century, revamped this bench/stool can be used all around the house; it can be used in the bedroom, as a dressing table seat, a piano stool, a hallway bench. The feet, and the spacer with top, are in walnut carved in the manner of what is called "sheep bone" typical of the baroque style of louis XIV. The scrolled feet are decorated with sculptures of acanthus leaves. The stool has been upholstered in a new modern fabric depicting colorful stylized plants and flowers on a bright blue background. Condition: good. This item was painted and reupholstered, but not reupholstered inside as it was in good condition. Non-structural crack repaired on part of the spacer (see photo).
