Large Scandinavian Kilim rug from the second half of the 20th century (1950-1970), made of 100% high-quality jute. Entirely handwoven flat on a traditional loom, this rug combines a timeless graphic aesthetic with remarkable texture work, and is fully reversible. The edges are finished by hand with a thick jute connecting thread. The alternation of two weaving patterns from one square to another: sections in traditional flat weave (canvas weave) are alongside sections in twisted/serged relief, creating a unique play of volume. The timeless geometric checkerboard pattern fits perfectly in both vintage interiors (teak, light oak furniture) and contemporary or bohemian-chic decor. Its autumnal and vibrant hues derived from natural dye pigments: brick red, ochre yellow, fir green, and orange have remained beautifully dense and bright. Very good overall condition (note a small wear on one edge). Dimensions: 199 cm X 294 cm. Fast and careful shipping.
