Charming little earthenware pitcher signed HB Quimper, decorated with a Breton woman in traditional costume, in a blue frame highlighted with stylized flowers. Its geometric shape with cut sides, typical of certain series from the mid-20th century, gives it a beautiful presence on a table or in a display case. Made in Quimper in Brittany, this creamer comes from the famous HB Quimper house (Hubaudière-Bousquet), founded in the 18th century and known for its entirely hand-painted work. Each scene, here a peasant woman in a headdress, is carefully executed according to the tradition of regionalist decorations that made Breton earthenware famous. HB Quimper stamp accompanied by 4 small crosses (meaning?) Capacity 25 cl Width 11 cm, height 11 cm Good condition - a mini chip on the edge of the base, a defect in the paint blue border at the base on the side no cracks, slight wear from time but still very shiny Perfect to accompany a vintage lunch service or to complete a collection of traditional earthenware.
