CH37 dining chair by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen 1960s

The ch37 dining chair from 1962, designed by hans j. Wegner, is clearly inspired by the american 'shaker' furniture principles of simplicity, functionality and craftsmanship. The ch37 also showcases many thoughtful details that are typical of wegner's style. The light, elegant appearance of the chair is created by the vertical round legs and a backrest that curves back slightly more than down to provide optimal support for the back. The hand-woven papercord seat and the softly rounded and flat armrests provide both comfort and sturdiness. In short, a beautiful design by hans wegner aka 'the master of the chair'. The chair is in good vintage condition, with a beautiful patina on the light oak frame.
